01 · The short answer

Every company involved is on the record.

Elara is a telehealth program operated by JTE Medical, LLC. Clinical care comes from OpenLoop Healthcare Partners, PC, through a board-certified physician-led team licensed in your state. If a clinician prescribes a compounded medication, a state-licensed pharmacy prepares it for you.

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved, and FDA has not evaluated them for safety, effectiveness or quality. Compounding for individual patients is legal under Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and is overseen by state pharmacy boards.

The assessment is free. If a clinician decides treatment isn't appropriate for you, you aren't charged and nothing ships.

  1. Operates Elara

    JTE Medical, LLC

    Runs the program: enrollment, billing, supplement orders and support. A Florida limited liability company.

    OpenLoop Healthcare Partners, PC

    A board-certified physician-led team of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants licensed in your state. Your clinician evaluates you, prescribes when appropriate and adjusts your dose.

  3. Prescriptions

    Four state-licensed pharmacies

    RedRock Pharmacy, Health Warehouse, Precision Compounding Pharmacy and Triad Rx prepare patient-specific prescriptions. Your assigned pharmacy may vary. Elara does not compound medication.

    Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp

    Metabolic labs every quarter, included in your program and reviewed by your clinician. Additional testing may be ordered when medically appropriate.

  5. Coaching

    A certified health coach

    Your first call is around week three, then every three weeks. Coaching covers nutrition, activity and routines; medical decisions stay with your clinician.

04 · How your care works

A licensed clinician reviews every case.

Clinicians decline cases that aren't appropriate, such as some medication interactions or conditions that need an in-person visit. If that happens, you aren't charged.

How it works, step by step

  1. About five minutes

    Free assessment

    Share your health history, current medications, prior GLP-1 prescription and dose records, and recent labs if you have them. Completing it does not purchase a plan.

  2. After you submit

    Clinical review

    A clinician licensed in your state reviews your assessment and decides whether to prescribe, decline or ask for more information. If treatment isn't approved, you aren't charged.

  3. If prescribed

    Your medication ships

    A state-licensed pharmacy partner prepares your prescription. It typically ships within a week of approval; missing records, lab timing and pharmacy processing can add time.

  4. Every quarter and every three weeks

    Labs and coaching

    Metabolic labs every quarter at Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp, reviewed by your clinician. Your first coaching call is around week three, then every three weeks.

  5. Ongoing

    Questions and refills

    Side effects, dose questions and refill forms go through your patient portal, with no separate charge to message your care team.

05 · Who it isn’t for

GLP-1 medicines aren't right for everyone.

A compounded GLP-1 is not prescribed if any of these apply:

  • A personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)
  • A personal or family history of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
  • Pregnancy, or plans to become pregnant
  • Under 18 years old

Your clinician also reviews other factors, including any history of pancreatitis, gallbladder or kidney problems, eating disorders and your current medications, and may decline treatment or recommend in-person care.

How billing and cancellation work.

  • The assessment is free, and you aren't charged if treatment isn't approved.
  • Prices are on the pricing page before you start, and they're the same at every dose your clinician prescribes.
  • The 4-week plan has no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
  • Prepaid 12-, 24- and 52-week plans are charged upfront. If you end one early, the care you received is recalculated at the shorter plan's rate, with no exit penalty.
  • Once a billing period's medication ships, that period can't be refunded; pharmacies can't take back dispensed prescriptions.
  • Elara is direct-pay and doesn't bill insurance.

Is Elara a scam?

No. Elara is operated by JTE Medical, LLC, a Florida company. Clinical care is provided by OpenLoop Healthcare Partners, PC, and prescriptions are prepared by the four state-licensed pharmacies named on this page. Each one can be checked in the public records linked above.

Is compounded medication FDA-approved?

No. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and FDA has not evaluated them for safety, effectiveness or quality. Compounding is legal under Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and is overseen by state pharmacy boards. Your clinician decides whether a compounded preparation is appropriate for you.

Are the clinicians licensed?

Yes. Clinicians who prescribe through Elara are licensed in the state where you're located and practice with OpenLoop Healthcare Partners, PC. You can check a physician's license through DocInfo or your state medical board, and a nurse practitioner's license through Nursys; both are linked above.

Does Elara take insurance?

No. The program is direct-pay. Prices are listed on the pricing page before you start, and they stay the same at every dose your clinician prescribes.

What happens if I'm not approved?

You aren't charged. The assessment is free, and if a clinician decides treatment isn't appropriate, no payment is collected and nothing ships.
